Jingle Bell Time is the Right Time . . .

By Susan DeBakey –

To propose! Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are the most popular days of the year to pop the question.  Indeed, according to Weddingwire, 40 percent of all engagements happen between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day.

Engagement experts like Susan DeBakey at Loggins Jewelers of Sugar Land agree. “It’s such a special time where loved ones are already gathered to celebrate.  Many men take advantage of having family and friends together to surprise the love of their life with an engagement ring.”

No matter the budget, the time is now to shop for the best selection and pricing. Loggins Jewelers invites customers to come in early, take their time and add to their wish lists. Family owned and operated, Loggins Jewelers is also able to offer customized installment plans to fit customer needs.  This means the jewelry elves of Loggins Jewelers are already busy working with couples to design their dream custom engagement rings. Stephanie Saa, General Manager of Loggins Jewelers, said, “On average, it takes our master jeweler two to three weeks from initial consultation to delivery. Couples wishing for the rare and unusual should allot more time.”

Though a white diamond is still the best seller, today’s couples are often choosing less traditional engagement rings set with emeralds, rubies or sapphires.  “We are seeing an increase in request for colored center stones, especially fancy colored diamonds,” said DeBakey. “With celebrities like Eva Longoria sporting a Burmese Ruby, and Lady GaGa flashing a rare baby pink diamond, engagement rings today are as individual as the couple.”

Along with the traditional four C’s of diamonds – Color, Clarity, Cut and Carat Weight –  DeBakey advises there is now another to consider. “Creation is the fifth C in diamonds.  In other words, is the stone created naturally or by man.”

Now, like never before, it is important that customers are confident about the stones they are buying.  “The internet and box stores are full of lab-created stones.  With center stones, the buyer can demand a Gemological Institute of America (GIA) certificate to prove origin.  But there is no such protection from smaller stones used in pave’ and other small settings.”

Independent jewelers such as Loggins Jewelers know where all of their vendors source their work, so that customers can be sure they are getting only naturally created top-rated stones for the best prices, which hold investment value.  “Because we have specialized in custom work for over 30 years, our design team make it easy for couples to source and design exactly what they want for a price they can afford,” said Saa. “We not only give them a ring they will love; we educate them about the stones they choose.”

Some grooms, however, love the element of surprise. “We have a large selection of engagement rings in house for the last minute holiday present,” said DeBakey.

Whether wrapped beneath the tree, presented at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve, or slid on her finger during a romantic Valentine’s dinner, there is no better time of year to give her that Jingle Bell Rock.  Visit logginsjewelers.com or call 281.242.2900.
